Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 2026

ScoopOps (“we,” “our,” or “us”) provides a business management platform for pet waste removal companies. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information in two contexts: from business operators who sign up for ScoopOps, and from their end customers who interact with the platform.

Business operator accounts

  • Name and email address
  • Business name and contact information
  • Password (stored as a secure hash — never in plain text)
  • Billing information processed by Stripe (we do not store raw card numbers)
  • Team member names and email addresses

Customer records (entered by operators)

  • Name, email address, and phone number
  • Service address
  • Service history and schedules
  • Payment method information (tokenized via Stripe)
  • Notes and gate codes entered by the operator
  • Service completion photos (if the operator enables proof-of-service)

Automatically collected information

  • Log data (IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamps)
  • Usage data within the application (features used, actions taken)
  • Cookies necessary for authentication and session management

2. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to:

  • Provide and operate the ScoopOps platform
  • Process billing and payments through Stripe
  • Send service notifications and reminders via SMS and email
  • Optimize service routes using mapping data
  • Generate AI-assisted messaging for customer communications
  • Respond to support requests
  • Improve the platform based on usage patterns
  • Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use customer data for advertising purposes.

3. SMS Communications

ScoopOps sends SMS messages to end customers on behalf of pet waste removal businesses that use our platform. These messages may include:

  • Service completion notifications (“We just finished your yard”)
  • Upcoming service reminders
  • Review requests after a completed service
  • Billing-related messages (invoices, payment confirmations)

Consent: By providing their phone number to a ScoopOps-powered business, customers consent to receive these service-related SMS messages. Consent is not required to receive service.

Opt-out: You can stop receiving SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to any message. You can also disable SMS notifications in your customer portal, or ask your service provider to update your preferences. Standard message and data rates may apply.

4. Third-Party Services

We use trusted third-party services to operate the platform. Each provider processes data only as needed for the stated purpose:

Stripe (payments)

Processes all payment card data. We never store raw card numbers. Stripe is PCI DSS compliant. See Stripe's Privacy Policy.

Twilio (SMS)

Delivers SMS messages to customers. Phone numbers and message content are transmitted through Twilio's infrastructure. See Twilio's Privacy Policy.

Resend (email)

Delivers transactional emails such as invoices, password resets, and notifications. See Resend's Privacy Policy.

Google Maps (routing)

Used to geocode service addresses and optimize daily routes. Customer addresses are sent to Google's APIs for this purpose. See Google's Privacy Policy.

Ollama (AI messaging)

Powers AI-assisted message drafting for customer communications. Text content may be processed to generate message suggestions.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain account and customer data for as long as a business account is active. If you close your ScoopOps account, we will delete your business data (including all associated customer records) within 30 days, except where we are required to retain records for legal or accounting purposes (typically up to 7 years for financial records).

To request deletion of your account and data, contact us at [email protected].

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your data (subject to legal retention requirements)
  • Opt out of SMS communications at any time
  • Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority if you believe your rights have been violated

End customers whose data is managed by a ScoopOps-powered business should contact that business directly to exercise their rights regarding their service records.

7. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and access controls scoped to each business account. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you discover a security issue, please contact us promptly.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. For significant changes, we will notify active account holders by email.
